ABOUT THE PROGRAM

At Alliance, we train educators who transform lives. We ground our work in a mission to prepare scholars for college and beyond through rigorous, joyful learning experiences, while instilling pride in their histories, identities, and communities. As an Alliance Teacher Resident, you will spend a year learning and teaching alongside an extraordinary mentor teacher while completing your California Preliminary Credential.

Our one-year residency combines immersive classroom experience with coursework that reflects the realities of teaching today. You will spend four days each week at an Alliance school, working closely with your mentor to plan, teach, and reflect on practice. One day each week is dedicated to credential coursework that deepens your content knowledge and strengthens your instructional craft.

We offer Single Subject credential pathways in Mathematics, English Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and Spanish. Upon successful completion, you will earn a Preliminary Credential and be eligible for a full-time teaching position at Alliance.

We anchor everything in our core values: Grow Together, Pursue Excellence, Advance Equity. You will join a community that believes in honest engagement, high standards, and removing barriers so that all scholars and educators can succeed. With a starting teacher salary of $70,000, ongoing coaching, and clear growth pathways, we invite you to make Alliance your home for learning, leadership, and lasting impact.

MEET OUR RESIDENCY PARTNER:

We partner with the Marshall Teacher Residency, which takes a values-based approach to teaching and learning. Their core commitments to student-centered instruction, data-driven practice, whole-child education, and anti-racist teaching align closely with Alliance’s mission to prepare scholars for college, career, and life success.
